NFL Power Rankings Week 2

While we said in the last show that it is hard to get a read on who is good, but we are pretty certain of who is bad, lets rank these mugs.

32.

Jacksonville Jaguars

I think it is pretty clear to see that their scheme isn’t quite clicking, and I think that their offense has been weak. It is early to call Trevor a bust but my man has 5 interceptions in the first 2 weeks.

31.

New York Jets

Zach Wilson looked awful on Sunday, but Billy B is known for making rookie QBs look foolish. I put them above the Jags strictly because I think they are better coached and in a better position to be successful in the future.

30.

New York Giants

The clapper may be calling plays, but they look as flat as when he called shit plays for the Cowboys. It seems clear that they still aren’t clicking on offense and aren’t quite tough on defense yet either.

29.

Houston Texans

They just keep getting worse. They lost Tyrod and a WR to IR this week, and now we get to wait and see what they produce with Mills under center.

28.

Atlanta Falcons

They kept up with the Bucs this week, but in the 4th they collapsed. I can’t trust any team without a running back. Their defense is swiss cheese, and I think that the bottom 4 teams are relatively interchangeable.

27.

Detroit Lions

The Lions may have heart and they might have put together a great game plan against the Packs in the first half, but in the second half the turnovers got the best of them and their defense was unable to get pressure late. It might be the death of them this season.

26.

Philadelphia Eagles

I’m just not sold on the Eagles yet. Sure they flashed against the Falcons, but it was the Falcons. Their coaches made random trick play calls on 4th and goal, and I don’t know that they have what it takes down the stretch to make a run.

25.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals look vastly improved, but they aren’t quite deserving of my confidence.

24.

Minnesota Vikings

Honestly I struggled with the Vikings and the Bengals positioning.

23.

Miami Dolphins

22.

Chicago Bears

21.

Las Angeles Chargers

20.

New Orleans Saints

19.

New England Patriots

18.

Washington Football Team

I don’t know what team I’m going to get. They have a backup QB who isn’t awful, yet their defensive front didn’t live up to the hype against the Giants.

17.

Seattle Seahawks

I said it once and I’ll say it again. The. Seahawks. Are. Frauds. Russ may win a few for the hawks, but they aren’t going deep in the playoffs.

16.

Indianapolis Colts

I can’t put this team in the top 15 until they show me something. They have a great OL and a solid defense, yet Wentz hasn’t performed to the level that is necessary.

15.

San Francisco 49ers

They seem like the real deal, but they haven’t quite found the rhythm since Jimmy G is getting worked in after his injury last season. They are being bitten again by the injury bug, but they should be able to push past as long as their defensive front holds up and their QB play remains good.

14.

Arizona Cardinals

They look great, genuinely. But they went into shootout mode with the Vikings, who are mediocre in the secondary, and they have arguably the most average QB in the league. I don’t understand how you play the Titans so dominantly, then win by luck against the Vikings.

13.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos are steadily moving along with Teddy under center, he is Mr. consistent. He may not provide the flash plays but he provides consistent accurate play underneath. I love to see him be successful after the injuries he’s pushed through. Chubb has reinjured his ankle, which means Miller will get the double teams, and their defense will get infinitely worse.

12.

Pittsburgh Steelers

They have the easiest schedule to run on according to PFF, yet they don’t seem to be rushing well. Ben looks washed and unhealthy, and the defense struggles when TJ is not on the field. Watt caught the old post-contract injury and missed the second half of Sunday’s game.

11.

Carolina Panthers

They have a sneaky good defense, and their offense has been vastly improved since last season. The improvements of the Ruhle era seem to be coming to fruition. I am excited to see them moving forward, and health permitting, they are 1 or 2 players from a contending team.

10.

Dallas Cowboys

They won a damn game and they got more pressure without their starting DEs on the field, that is very impressive. It is wild that they pulled it off. They have backups on OL and DL and they still seem to have the game in hand. I hate some of the late game clock management, but they still won and I love to see it.

9.

Las Vegas Raiders

These guys are red hot. Anyone playing the Raiders are running into a buzz saw. I’m not yet a believer in Derrick Carr, even if David Carr tells me he’s the best. The team still needs to improve the run game, but the deep passing threats have been paying off.

8.

Tennessee Titans

They showed a lot of resilience against the Seahawks to hang in and pull out a victory, but they have a massive question mark at LT, and any defensive coordinator will tell you they are sending the yard at that weak spot. Ryan T has 4 fumbles this season already.

7.

Cleveland Browns

They are so talented, the Browns have the whole recipe, but the injury bug is killing them. They get back OBJ, but he’ll be a shell of his old self for a while, and they lose Jarvis Landry. You hate to watch them losing their weapons while on the cusp of being a top 5 team.

6.

Green Bay Packers

They looked awful against the Saints, almost like they didn’t care. When they came out against Detroit, it felt personal when they blew them out. As a fantasy manager with Aaron Jones and Rogers on my team last week, I loved to see it. As a Cowboys fan who has had many season ruined by that ass, I hate to see it.

5.

Las Angeles Rams

They look amazing so far, they tore through a solid defense, and we’ll see a lot this weekend when they face off against Brady and the Bucs.

4.

Baltimore Ravens

They showed something big by upsetting the Chiefs without their running backs and without some members of their secondary. I love watching that kind of a team win. They still have to clean up the turnovers, Lamar has 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions in the first 2 weeks this season. He is on pace for 34 turnovers this season and that is no recipe for victories in the post-season.

3.

Buffalo Bills

These guys are on the cusp of greatness. Honestly if the Chiefs didn’t exist, we would be talking about the Bills as a possible dynasty these next few years. I want to root for them almost as much as I root for the Cowboys.

2.

Kansas City Chiefs

HoW iS a 1-1 tEaM nUmbEr 2

Because they’re dominant. Yes they got caught sleeping on Sunday Night Football, but they were bound to lose eventually to the Ravens. While GMFB might say they were disappointed with the defense, you can’t forget they forced 2 major turnovers and scored, it’s on the offense having weak possessions down the stretch, and I wouldn’t bank on it in December.

1.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

They aren’t unbeatable but they seem to be in a class of their own right now. They are clicking on all cylinders. TB12 got 5 TDs last weekend like it was nothing. I think they could have easily been the losers of their week 1 match up against the Cowboys, but they still found a way to win when it mattered.
