Whether it’s Christian waking up in Lubbock, me waking up in Starkville, or Danny waking up in Dallas, this is the best week of any college football fan’s season (minus Alabama or a future champion).

Why is week one such a big week in college football?

All summer you’ve heard about the recruiting, and your beat reporters have told you about the recruiting successes of the coaching staff. You’ve seen your school tweet workout videos and hype videos. Today rubber meets the road.

Every fan has their team winning 8 to 12 (maybe even 15) games.

By tonight those projections will be updated. I think my Mississippi State Bulldogs could win 10 games this year, and I definitely don’t think we’re losing to Alabama for the 14th straight year, but if we even have a close game today vs LA Tech…. I may have to revise.

Last season felt like a missed season, but this year I get to break out a new cowbell for a new season.
